NCRI - Reports are surfacing about more religious persecution in Iran.In the city of Dezful in southwestern Iran, a convert to Christianity has been arrested. This information was provided by an Iranian Christian rights advocate group.The man that was arrested is named Mohammad Ali Torabi. Security officers arrested him at his office in the Qal’a Sayyed area of the city on Tuesday October10th.
The Iranian authorities must urgently stop the execution of a 17-year-old boy who was convicted of murder and rape, and commute his death sentence to imprisonment, said Amnesty International.Amirhossein Pourjafar is scheduled to be executed in a prison in Tehran on 19 October 2017. He was detained in April 2016 and sentenced to death six months later after being convicted of the rape

Another Iranian convert to Christianity has been arrested in the city of Dezful, southwest of the country, an Iranian Christian rights advocate group has confirmed in an interview with Radio Farda.The spokesman of Article 18, Kiarash Alipour says, “Security agents detained Mohammad Ali Torabi at his office in ‘Qal’a Sayyed’ district of Dezful, on Tuesday, October 10 and took him to an unknown location.

NCRI - A prisoner who objected lack of a bed to sleep on in the prison was taken to the prison yard by Ardebil prison authorities and chained to the flagpole in cold weather after beating and mayhem.The prisoner, named Behnam Amiri, is sentenced to three years in prison for robbery. He was transferred from youth section to ward 5 of the prison, and was beaten by the prison authorities after protesting the lack of bed to sleep because of the high number of prisoners

NCRI - The family of a Kurdish political prisoner, in a letter to Ms. Asma Jahangir, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, called for clarification of her son's situation in the Iranian regime’s prison.In their letter, the family refers to the torture and mistreatment and lack of any news about the fate of their son as well as regime prohibiting them from hiring a lawyer for him.

Political prisoner Narges Mohammadi, who is detained in Evin Prison, wrote a letter to Majlis requesting an investigation into the conditions of solitary confinement. In her letter, she stressed that 15 female prisoners who have been kept in solitary were detained with her in Evin Prison. They have been detained for about 140 months overall in solitary confinement and security sections.This letter reads in part:

Prisoner of conscience Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, detained on baseless charges in Iran since April 2016, may be facing new criminal charges which could extend her prison sentence to 16 years.Ms. Zaghari was called to the Evin Prosecutor’s court on Sunday, October 8, 2017, and informed that the Revolutionary Guards Corps has accused her of three new charges, including membership in organizations that seek the soft overthrow of the Iranian regime,
